The long hot summer ended with the South Oxfordshire Mencap team participating in the Regatta for the Disabled held on the banks of the River Thames in Henley on Saturday 12 September.
The Regatta is held every year and provides a full day of accessible activities – a petting zoo, circus skills, face painting, soft archery, live music entertainment… and more.
Our team won the Carolyn Molyneaux Cup for effort and resilience in the bellboat racing competition for the second year running!
Throughout the hot summer our members have enjoyed many outdoor activities, including bowls at Henley Bowling Club green, mini-golf in Mill meadows, a summer party, a BBQ and boat trips on the Rivertime Trust accessible boat, as well as the usual year-round activities – discos, swimming and the weekly Meteor Club programme.
