Christmas got off to a lively start this year with the South Oxfordshire Mencap Christmas party on Sunday 7 December.
Over 40 members and their families and carers attended the fun party at Harpsden Village Hall, a few miles outside Henley. By 2 pm, the disco lights were on, the ballons were in the air and the dancing had started. Everyone enjoyed the festive Christmas atmosphere, the dancing and the chocolates in ‘pass the parcel’.
Deputy Lieutenant of Oxfordshire, David Woodgate, joined us for the celebration. After a delicious tea of sandwiches and cakes, Father Christmas arrived with his sackful of presents which were distributed to all members in turn by his two helpful elves. Members left with their gifts and luxury Christmas crackers.
Thanks to the organizers, the Catering Team and all the volunteers who helped on the day, and special thanks to all our members for coming from across the county to enjoy the entertainment.
