LDA in Henley Market Place

South Oxfordshire Mencap marked Learning Disability Awareness day with a cake stall, a choir and volunteer fundraising on Saturday 14 June.

The theme this year was “Do you see me?” which is all about people with a learning disability being seen, heard and valued. Local MP Freddie Van Mierlo, Henley-on-Thames Mayor Tom Buckley and Geoff Walsh from Thames Masons attended and participated in the event which included the presentation of a generous donation cheque from Thames Masons for £1500.

Thanks to the organizers, the cake makers, the choir and the volunteers with fundraising tins who worked hard to make the day a success. We had many generous cash donations and donors were reminded they can also donate online. A day of sunshine, singing and laughter which helped us raise over £600 to fund our activities throughout the year.
