The Meteor Club celebrated Learning Disability Awareness Day on Saturday 18 June with a successful cake stall and singalong in Market Square and a street collection, which all together raised over £500 to support Mencap and our local activities.
The Meteor Club choir, accompanied by accordion playing, brought sunshine to the square. Attended by Donna Cooke, Deputy Mayor of Henley-on-Thames, the event highlighted the many and varied activities we are involved with.
Despite more and more people not carrying cash these days, we had many generous cash donations – and supporters were reminded there is a facility to donate online (click here for information on how to donate online)!
Thanks to all who organized the event and contributed towards helping spread awareness of learning disability in the community.
